Ahhhhh (In Color)

This one was hard to color for some reason.  You may notice the color is a bit uneven.  I think it is because it was drawn on really cheap paper which made the surface a bit splotchy.  I still like the way it turned out though.  The original can be seen here.  Somehow the color makes it seem less like ecstasy or agony and more like surprise or shock that is being expressed.  Maybe that's just me though.  What are your thoughts?

Baby Tree Branch

A new branch sprouting on an older tree.  It's kind of neat I think.

Full Metal Alchemist

I added a background color and made his eyes the same color.  Not sure if it added anything to the original in this case or not.  What do you think?

Pirate Lady

Arrr now there be a fine lookin' woman indeed matey.  Here is woman letting out her inner pirate.

Thursday, June 22, 2017

I decided to go with something a little silly for one of my first experiments with color.  This is an alien from a series of cartoon characters that I drew and shared in an earlier post. Not sure if it benefited from color or not to be honest.  What do you think?

Pink Tutu

She is rockin' the pink tutu and pink jacket!  I love catching high fashion moments with my camera.

Masked Parade Girl

Look at the cute little girl in the mask throwing beads!  That's really the whole point of this photo, just how adorable she is.  It's kind of neat how I caught the beads in mid toss too, but mostly just look her!!!  😻

Part of my experiment with adding color to my drawings using GIMP.  I figured I would post this one first, as I've already made this the profile picture for the various W&F Kreations social media sites.  This one is really good I think.  I also think the color helps to mask some of my drawbacks as an artist.  Expect to see a lot more color!

Trying something different

I was working on some drawings recently and after scanning them in decided to try out the painting tools in GIMP.  I was so happy with the results that I am going back and trying out color on some of my older drawings.  So if you see something that looks somehow familiar, it's probably a picture I posted before in black and white.  Looking forward to the new fun this will open up.

Mardi Gras Granny

Not the most outrageous bit of costuming I saw that day, but it was nice to see that even the older generations were getting in on the fun.  Thanks to the political tensions many younger people think that older people are all uptight and too serious.  It's good to do anything you can to change those perceptions.

Lady Aiwass

This actually started out as just doodling, but then it reminded me of a picture that Aleister Crowley drew of the being that dictated the Book of the Law.  Only it looked more feminine somehow, so I added the lips and named it Lady Aiwass.  Then I decided to give it some color to keep it from being just a bad drawing, so now it's a bad painting!

Mardi Gras Crowd

These are a couple of crowd shots from the Mardi Gras parade earlier this year.  The little girlin the top one cracks me up, the one whose feet aren't even touching the ground.

I did a couple different versions of this, this is the one I ended up liking the best.  I played around with different colors and shadings.  Here is the one that I almost went with, but the one on top win out:

Which one do you like better?

Sunday, June 18, 2017

I think these were people from a Ren Fest kind of thing, but they had the big cushioned weapons so let's face it they are Larpers.  If you aren't familiar with larping it is live action role play where you dress in costume as a character and fight with padded weapons.  They were having a lot of fun and the costumes are good.

Wonder Woman and Superman

In case you haven't noticed I'm a comic book geek.  I don't draw more comic characters because I don't want to do just one thing and also I know I'll mess them up. This one is Wonder Woman and Superman running into action.  I am pretty happy with this one.  Could use more details and Superman's face is kind of weird but overall I think it's pretty good.

Party Girls

I didn't get to meet these girls, but man don't they look like they'd be a lot of fun?  Really dig those boots.

The Submissive Male

I changed this one up quite a bit from the photo that it is modeled on, so as to make it not quite so NSFW.  I actually think making her be dressed more conservatively adds something to the paicture.  The paper wrinkled when I scanned it, which bummed me out, but I was feeling lazy and didn't want to rescan it, so here you go.

King Bubba

The redneck Mardi Gras king making his processional. The helmet really pulls his outfit together, don't you think?

She ended up with the weirdest, skinniest arms ever.  Other than that it is not half bad I guess.  Of course she is smoking a completely legal substance.  😉

She'd better be careful wearing that hoodie in the wrong neighborhood.

Full Metal Alchemist

This is the little brother from Full Metal Alchemist.  If you are not familiar with the show you should go watch it.  This was supposed to be bigger, but I cut it off cause it went wonky further down.

The Fence Atop The Grassy Knoll

The Fence at the Top of the Grassy Knoll by WandF Kreations on

This is the fence at the top of the grassy knoll behind which a second gunman was alleged by some to have hidden.  This pic is available on 500px and Dreamstime.

The Spot

The Spot by WandF Kreations on

The x marks the spot where Kennedy was when the fatal bullet hit him.  It's weird to be there and see traffic driving over it like it's no big deal.  My first time in Dallas I drove over it without even realizing where I was until later.  This pic is available on 500px and  Dreamstime.

Wooden Bridge

Wooden Bridge by WandF Kreations on

Yes it is another picture of a bridge.  What can I say, they are neat.  This one is available on our 500px page.

The Grassy Knoll

GrassyKnoll by WandF Kreations on

This is the infamous grassy knoll in Dallas TX, where it is alleged that a second gunman fired at President Kennedy.  This was taken in 2016, but it hasn't changed much.  I have a few pix from Dealey Plaza that I am going to post.  You can see this at our 500px page or over on Dreamstime.

Adventures of Superman

Art Prints

This is a collage I made featuring old comic book covers from Superman comics.  Superman is to me the most iconic of superheroes.  You can purchase this picture as a print, or a t-shirt, mug, shower curtain or lots of other cool stuff here.

Indivisible by WandF Kreations on

Women marching with a sign that says #INDIVISIBLE.  This is a good message for the Trump era I think.  This photo is on our 500px page and is available to buy on our Dreamstime page.

Cigarette Break

Cigarette Break by WandF Kreations on

This is another picture from our 500px page.  This is a photo that I played with and added some effects to, and ended up liking the way it turned out.

Bridge by WandF Kreations on

This is from our 500px page.  If you want to see it there you can go here.

Another example of my strange fascination with bridges.

Crazy Couple and Their Dog

A very festive couple in the Mardi Gras parade.  She is sporting a pink boa which matches her hair, and a mask.  He is dressed, I believe, as a crawfish.  The doog looks like he is trying to look like he's not with them.

Sword Woman

I decided it was time to try something more geeky, so I tried to draw a lady samurai.  She turned ok ok, not great but not too bad.  The sword got a little wonky.  Overall I think it turned out alright, but I'm hoping the next one turns out better.

Hooded Figure

A hooded figure walking a a crowded sunny street.  Not an image you see every day.  Actually this guy was part of a group of larpers who were taking part in a parade.  I thought his costume was pretty cool.

This one turned out pretty good.  The chair is a little weird but the woman isn't bad.  I don't know who relaxes in a bustier, but hey it's my drawing...

Having A Lovely Time

The guy on the right looks like he's just having the best time ever.  He just cracked me up.  The rest of the picture is not very interesting, but he makes the whole thing work for me.

Mobster Gal

It's probably just the hat, but for some reason when I finished this I thought she looked like a female version of a mobster.  I think this one turned out alright, more comic booky than cartoony.  As a life long fan of comics I am okay with that.

Have Some Beads

Caught this guy in mid-toss.  The fact that he's got this super fancy mask on and then just a regular shirt and jeans cracks me up.

She is excited and nervous at the same time.  What was about to be done to her?  She didn't know and she had to admit that it was thrilling.

Happy Face

She looks like she's laughing at a joke she just remembered.  It's nice to see people smile.  Especially if they don't know that someone is looking.

I like this one.  I think it turned out really well.  I like how it is open to interpretation. Is she gasping in shock or surprise?  Is she moaning in pleasure?  Does she have a toothache?  You decide!

Groovy In Green

I like this outfit.  It reminds me of a jester suit, but updated.  I also like masks and capes, but that may just be the geek in me.

DJ Baby Groot

Baby Groot spinning mad beats yo.  Isn't that how the kids put it?  If you are a fan of the movies you probably know what scene I was copying on this, replacing an explosive device with a turn table.  I should have had his finger on the record I guess, I don't really know how being a DJ works.

Gettin' Down

This lady was dancing to the tunes coming from a nearby portable cd player.  She should have hooked up with the dog from my other pic.  She was cutting loose and having fun and didn't care who was watching, which is the only way to live in my opinion.

Young Lady

It's not a great title for the post, but hey I'm tired and it's been a long day.  So back off, okay?  Geez.  Anyhoo, some of the few corrections I made are still very visible, but overall for a quick sketch I thought this one turned out okay.  Someday I hope to get enough free time that I can sit down and really take my time with something, but I don't see that happening anytime soon, so you'll continue to be subjected to sketches drawn from pictures that catch my eye.

Floating Wizard

Okay, so I know he's just a larper, but look at his feet guys.  HIS FEET ARE TOTALLY NOT TOUCHING THE GROUND!!!  He's walking on air.  Burn him!!! Kill him with fire!! He's a witch I tells ya!  Anyway, this dude is a larper who was in a parade and the camera caught him at just the right instant to catch this fun pic.  Oh, and if you see this man, please don't hurt him.  I was onlhy playing earlier.  I shouldn't have to say that, but people are crazy, so...

Friday, April 28, 2017

I got off on my count, so you may notice there are two white squares adjacent to each other.  Oh well.  The lines are a little crooked as well, just I did this free hand and didn't use a ruler or anything.  It's a good thing I don't make any claims at being good at this.  Still I think it turned out ok.

A couple of Mardi Gras revelers dressed up for a day and night on the town.  And of course they are ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!  That hat is the best and I am loving the shimmery cape.  It is obvious that these two know how to have a good time.

The Joker from Batman.  Not much to say about this one, other than of course this is one of the classic comic book villains.

Dancing With The Pooch

There was music playing and this lady was dancing with her dog.  The dog looked like it was super happy.  It was a fun moment and I'm glad I captured it.  The dog was a better dancer than me.

You can probably guess what celebrity's photo this was modeled on.  Tried to put the right side in shadow, didn't really work out that well for me.  This may be the first time though that I used a celebrity photo as a model and the celebrity was recognizable when I finished.  Haven't been practicing as much as I'd like lately due to being caught up with other things.  Got to get back on track.
