This is probably my favorite picture from the Weezer show, though it's not technically the best.  The colors from the backdrop just really jump out I think.  Man that was a fun show.

Drummer for Bret Michaels

Drummers don't often get enough love and recognition for what they do.  I mean, they are the ones holding the whole thing together.  So I thought it only right that I share this pic of the drummer for Bret Michaels.  Of course I prove my earlier point when I am forced to admit that I don't even know this guy's name.

It's really hard to catch the lighting just right to get a good photo at a concert, and this is a good example of that.  In this case I think the bad lighting made for an interesting picture, but often it turns out that you can't even tell what the picture was of.

I have literally hundreds of pictures of fireworks.  So many in fact that this year I didn't even bother taking more.  But this is one that I really still like.  I just think there is something dramatic in the framing of it.  So I thought I would share.

Red Riding Hood

This picture originally had nothing to do with the fairy tale.  In fact I meant it to be more dark and gothic.  But once I made the hooded cloak red, I realized that I had to rename it and make it what it is.  The coloring is pretty good with a couple of wonky spots.  I think it may be one of better drawings, not that that's saying much.

Bret Michaels

In case you haven't realized I love concert photography.  I wish I had more money and opportunity to take pictures at shows.  I love the visual aesthetic of rock almost as much as the actual music.  This is a picture we took of Bret Michaels in concert, and even though the lighting could have been better I think it's a really good shot of a musician in action.

Panic At The Disco

A picture I took of Panic At The Disco in concert.  I really dug the horn section and thought they were used very well.  There aren't enough horns in rock and roll these days if you ask me.

Another concert pic I took of Weezer.  This was a really fun show, and it was amazing how the fans spanned a couple of generations at least.  It hadn't occurred to me before this show how Weezer has consistently released music that has been popular, but they have really been remarkable at staying relevant.

This fish just made me laugh.  It reminded me of Bill Engvall joke about a dorkfish, something about the way its lower jaw juts out.

Panic At The Disco drum off

This was taken at a Panic At The Disco show. They opened for Weezer, which is the band I was there to see, but I ended up being really impressed by them.  The singer jumped behind a drum set and had a little dueling drum solo.

Dallas Skyline

A picture of a Dallas skyline.  It's pretty good when you consider it was taken through a dirty window from a moving car.

Alice Cooper

This is a picture of Alice Cooper I took in concert a few years back.  He still puts on an amazing show, and if you get the chance to see him I highly recommend it.

I figure since it's been so long since I posted anything new, it wouldn't hurt to do just one more.  So here is another concert pic of Weezer, with a giant disco ball on the big screen behind them.

Submissive Lady

A colorized version of an earlier drawing.  A little naughtier than my standard fare, but I drew it off a photo I thought looked interesting.

Swimming Hole

This is a pic of a local swimming in a small Arkansas town.

I've been taking a little break but now I'm back. I have decided to share some of my concert pictures, so you'l start to see some of those showing up here.  I am having trouble finding a lot of them though, so it may just be a few bands.  I'm starting with this pic of Weezer with Yoko Ono being displayed on the big screen behind them.
