This little creek has a very pretty little waterfall where someone has dammed it up to create a swimming hole. While the flow of water obviously hasn't been completely stopped, it has made an area deep enough to be used as a swimming hole by the children in town.
A silly little geeky cartoon that I first shared on the geekboyking blog, but I am repurposing that blog so I decided I should move this over here. It's probably only funny if you are a big fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek, so I realize my target audience is pretty limited on this one.
A cuffed woman about to get a paddling. This is obviously a more adult themed picture than I usually make. I did put pants on the woman, she originally wasn't going to have them on but I didn't want this to become a NSFW blog. So the end result is a decidedly tamer picture, but I still dig it.
There is this great cave with an opening at the top that lets in a small waterfall. I took several pictures there and you'll see a few more on here. The lighting is very dramatic. I sold one for stock photography but decided to share the best of the rest here.
This is a lookout station high up on a hill sticking out from the trees. It gives a great view of the Roaring River fish hatchery. You can make out a couple of people up there enjoying the view. It was a bright day, so unfortunately they are a little washed out.
There is an unfortunate spotlight in this picture that obscures one of the band members. This is Alice Cooper and his band taking a deserved bow after putting on an amazing show. He ran through most of his most famous on-stage routines, and played most of his greats.
Drummers don't often get enough love and recognition for what they do. I mean, they are the ones holding the whole thing together. So I thought it only right that I share this pic of the drummer for Bret Michaels. Of course I prove my earlier point when I am forced to admit that I don't even know this guy's name.
It's really hard to catch the lighting just right to get a good photo at a concert, and this is a good example of that. In this case I think the bad lighting made for an interesting picture, but often it turns out that you can't even tell what the picture was of.
I have literally hundreds of pictures of fireworks. So many in fact that this year I didn't even bother taking more. But this is one that I really still like. I just think there is something dramatic in the framing of it. So I thought I would share.
This picture originally had nothing to do with the fairy tale. In fact I meant it to be more dark and gothic. But once I made the hooded cloak red, I realized that I had to rename it and make it what it is. The coloring is pretty good with a couple of wonky spots. I think it may be one of better drawings, not that that's saying much.
In case you haven't realized I love concert photography. I wish I had more money and opportunity to take pictures at shows. I love the visual aesthetic of rock almost as much as the actual music. This is a picture we took of Bret Michaels in concert, and even though the lighting could have been better I think it's a really good shot of a musician in action.
Another concert pic I took of Weezer. This was a really fun show, and it was amazing how the fans spanned a couple of generations at least. It hadn't occurred to me before this show how Weezer has consistently released music that has been popular, but they have really been remarkable at staying relevant.
This was taken at a Panic At The Disco show. They opened for Weezer, which is the band I was there to see, but I ended up being really impressed by them. The singer jumped behind a drum set and had a little dueling drum solo.
I've been taking a little break but now I'm back. I have decided to share some of my concert pictures, so you'l start to see some of those showing up here. I am having trouble finding a lot of them though, so it may just be a few bands. I'm starting with this pic of Weezer with Yoko Ono being displayed on the big screen behind them.
